Garages coming down near Woolwich Arsenal station as development proceeds
Garages located near Woolwich Arsenal station continue to come down this week as work continues on flattening a town centre site for redevelopment.
Last week this site looked at the nearby pub which has started to come down.

I popped over again expecting to see more of the site meeting its end but little seemed to have changed. That includes at shops beside. Most activity was centred around garages and former homes at Troy Court.
Garages here have been an eyesore for decades presenting blank frontage to Vincent Road.

In its place will be homes in a number of blocks lining the road as far along as Armstrong Estate.
A total of 557 flats will be built on Greenwich Council land from Clarion and The Hill group.
Station

Just over from the old Bull Tavern sits some Network Rail-owned buildings that’ve been derelict for years now.
With far more residents set to live in the immediate vicinity it’ll be interesting to see whether they are brought back to lift, or whether this area could see another station entrance. It’s known that Network Rail want to build one including enhanced step-free access and requested Greenwich Council contribute via Section 106 payments but the authority refused.

Of course Network Rail may decide to build any possible entrance further along where a gate current exists at the car park.
While further from the town centre it’d probably be cheaper.

Finally to give a bit of context if changes seem a bit fuzzy and Vincent Road isn’t too well known, here’s a view from the station.

It seems inevitable the pub will soon be brought down and hopefully I’ll catch it. It may already have done so.
If it is, drop me a comment here or on social media.
