Construction starts on homes beside Bromley North station
Work has begun on forthcoming homes located beside Bromley North station with cranes now on site.
Blocks along Station Road were approved in 2023 and set to bring 75 homes with Bromley Council developing the site themselves. It replaces more than 80 parking spaces.

It’s the first stage of a larger area of development beside the station with Willmott Dixon and Network Rail mentioning a possible 525 homes during consultation.
Buildings are expected to top out around 8-10 floors with the plan “expected to provide a sensitive and effective transition between the adjoining low rise residential areas and the higher density town centre; and respect and enhance the setting of the Grade II listed Bromley North Station building.
“Taking into account the local context (including the proximity of the listed station building) and relevant reference heights, the Council considers that high density development of around 4 to 8 storeys would be appropriate for this location.
“A taller element of around 10 storeys may be suitable for part of the site, referencing the existing 10 storey Northpoint House although this would be subject to detailed design considerations.”
A block of 53 homes recently completed a short distance from the station on Tweedy Road.

Transport for London currently have bus stands on site which will be moved but remain nearby.
In terms of rail services from Bromley North it currently sees a shuttle to Grove Park, with a two trains per hour service off peak rising to around three an hour in peaks. There is no Sunday service.
Bromley South offers a far higher range and frequency of services.

Residential development is also underway near that station with Waitrose gaining approval for 353 homes, while last month approval was given for 138 homes nearby.

And with future plans to extend the Bakerloo Line to Bromley North. Which means more new flats to be built along the Bakerloo Line extension in Southeast London.
