Bromley residential block approved near railway station
Bromley council have given the green light this week to a new residential block to the south of the town centre.
A meeting of the Development Control Committee gave the green light for the proposal at Located at 1 Westmoreland Road close to Bromley South station which includes 138 flats.

The current block dates from the 1950s and was home to the Department of Health and Social Security once upon a time. London Land Group is the developer.
The tallest block is set to reach 19 storeys.

No social homes are included with 11 of the 138 to be intermediate rent under the “London Living Rent” classification, though it still meets the “affordable” housing classification. Total percentage equals 8.33%.
It’s car-free save for blue badge holders. Cycle parking will be included with space for 186 bikes.
Further development nearby
Bromley is seeing a fair bit of housing activity with new homes also set to rise beside Bromley North station. Some plots have been approved while others are not yet submitted.
An attractive art deco-esque block is also near completion (or may already be) nearby.
In addition Waitrose secured planning permission for 353 homes directly next to a London-bound platform.
Rail services are still lagging on Metro routes with the weekend services on the Orpington to Victoria route via Bromley South still stuck at two per hour after cuts in 2022. However Bromley South does at least see longer distance services call.

This new residential block will be ideally situated close to Bromley South Station and Bromley Town Centre with all it’s amenities and public transport.
The new homes will be ideal for young professionals and people who commute in to Central London.
Town Centre living is becoming more popular again as is more convenient for residents to have everything close by..
