Proposed change to the o2 Greenwich for new padel club
Plans are in to build new panel club courts and a club at the o2 in Greenwich.
An application uploaded recently shows space outside beside the Thames is to be used for the padel club.
Another one you might ask? There seems to be no end to them.
If you’re unware of what padel is, it’s a hybrid of tennis and squash which requires pretty small courts. Smaller than tennis anyway.
Earlier this year plans emerged for padel courts on a former tennis club in Blackheath. Those plans have now been dropped.
Meanwhile Eltham has seen a proposal for a club on the former police station.

A new padle club at the 02 would be a good use of space for local residents living close to the 02 as well has visitors to the 02.
With such high density housing we need more space for people to be able to play sport etc.
There is already one there
