Greenwich peninsula tower takes shape

A brief post here just offering a few photos showing how a tower beside the Thames on Greenwich peninsula is shaping up.

This is on a Knight Dragon plot which took 12 years to commence once detailed plans were approved, with one revision during that time.

Directly next door is the forthcoming Secret Cinema structure which is intended to be temporary and remain on site for around a decade.

Though given how slowly Knight Dragon build that could easily be there a lot longer.

Still, better than more parking. Also set to arrive between Secret Cinema and the Cable Car is a theatre.

A total of 300 flats is included in this phase of the wider Greenwich peninsula masterplan.

That now totals 17,500 homes from knight Dragon alone and thousands more from a number of other developers. Though at current build rates  – and those seen for the last quarter of a century – don’t expect most to be built out until 2100, or when the world end’s.
