Housing plans could see 205 dwellings on New Eltham sports field

A proposal for 205 homes in New Eltham on a sports ground has been unveiled.

Sigma Strategic Land – part of the wider Sigma Homes Group – is running a consultation for the STC Sports Club site which is Metropolitan Open Land.

Housing would sit on much of the site with Kings Bowls Club seeing a new club house.

Sigma state 50 per cent of homes would be “affordable” and contribute £4 million for sports ground improvements elsewhere in Greenwich borough.

Proposals for the site can be viewed here.

  • There are so many underused private sports grounds around Eltham. Losing a few for housing makes good sense.

  • Makes sense if land is not being used to build new homes on it. Ideally we need to see some more houses with gardens
