Lewisham man arrested for Greenwich murder

A 29 year old man has been arrested in Lewisham after the death of a man in his 30s last night in Greenwich near Belushi’s Bar.

The bar is also known as St Christopher’s Inn and located beside Greenwich station.

Proximity to the station has seen the British Transport Police take over the investigation.

The BTP state: “While we are at an early stage of our investigation, we believe this attack followed a fight close to the entrance of Belushi’s bar on Greenwich High Road.”

Police would like to speak to any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything.

Anyone with information can contact police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 108 of 01/05/22. Alternatively people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

    • Well done to British Transport Police for their swift investigations in to case. This is policing at it’s best. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims family and friends..
