Armed police sent to back-up colleagues at fight near o2

Armed police were scrambled to assist unarmed colleagues after a knife fight broke out among two groups near the o2 in Greenwich.

The Metropolitan Police’s Firearms Command stated: “C Relief were called to support our unarmed colleagues to detain a number of males involved in a large fight involving knives where people had been injured last night. Several arrests were made and this knife recovered”.

Three people were injured though none seriously – and four arrests made near Millemium Way. All remain in custody after the incident last night.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
