The Shipwrights Arms pub beside London Bridge station bought by Fuller’s
A pub on Tooley Street beside London Bridge station is one of ten bought by Fuller’s as announced this morning.
The deal has seen pubs purchased from Stonegate and an institutional property investment company for a total of £35.25m. Nine of the ten are in London with the other in Bath.
The Shipwright’s Arms dates from 1884 and is Grade II listed. There was the possibility of demolition in the 2010s when London Bridge rebuild work was proposed, though that idea thankfully never progressed.
Nearby pub
Fuller’s new pub beside London Bridge is a short distance from The Barrowboy & Banker which is also operated by the same company.

Fuller’s have yet to release the full list of all ten pubs included in the deal.
Fuller’s Executive Chairman, Simon Emeny, said: “I am delighted to be announcing this transaction today. We have always maintained a disciplined policy of only acquiring the right assets at the right price – and they must always be estate enhancing.
“This transaction certainly meets these criteria, and I’m delighted to welcome well known gems like The Shipwrights Arms in London Bridge, The Duchess next to Selfridges, and The Blue Anchor in Hammersmith to the Fuller’s Family.”
“This collection of 10 outstanding pubs, located in geographies where we already have a strong presence and knowledge of the customer, are a perfect complement to our existing estate.
“They will provide additional momentum to the strong earnings growth being delivered by our core business. We will update the market further at our interim results presentation later in the year.”
