The Murky Depths now has an Instagram page to see the many, many photos taken

Well to be honest, the Instagram has been going a while.

And yet!

For me it seems an outlet I’ve not really embraced. I take hundreds of photos for this site weekly and barely a fraction ever make it into posts. And so if you want to see what I’m taking click here.

I’ve long felt it’s a shame that the vast majority of photos I take for this site are never seen. It can feel a waste taking so many photos and also I’m a crap judge of what people want. Half the time photos I think will be unpopular get good views and then the opposite happens.

Take today; I took about 50-100 photos of what’s happening in Woolwich.

And with that I passed 200gb and have paid more for a 2tb online photo storage account.

AI

While AI is in the news and often talked about as the death knell of local news, well, does AI get out to take photos of local changes? This is where the likes of independent sites like mine will always beat out AI – which I have to add rips me off and others. The big boys like Google and Meta scan and rip content and we get no thanks. No cut of their billions.

AI doesn’t go out and take photos of changes. But it rips us off.

It’s enormously frustrating look at my site’s stats and see how I’m being ripped off. I’d rather people could go to the source directly than via rip-off merchants.

So if you want to see my pics go here.

And if you want to support the site please do look at the links below. Many thanks.

  • I think that AI will change everything especially on social media that social media platforms are using AI to create more content than relying on humans. I think it’s sad to say that AI is going to dominate the whole world and we won’t be able to stop AI from taking over our lives. I detest AI so much and it’s only going to get much harder to put a stop to AI.

  • Well Instagram has grown so much with lots of people who use Instagram to store photos and to keep their photos as memories. I once tried Instagram and I wasn’t keen on it and got rid of it but still I know that Instagram won’t change.
