New Jamaica Blue coffee shop and cafe opening on Bexleyheath Broadway

A branch of Jamaica Blue is set to open on the Broadway in Bexleyheath according to a new application.

The chain have around 26 other branches cross the country and offer a food menu including cooked breakfasts, bagels, burgers, gyro bowls and salads. The unit (along with another two) used to be Argos.

Work underway last month

It’s located close to Bakers and Baristas just a few doors down. I’m sure some will complain about the loss of a shop and state there’s enough coffee shops but well, people love going there. If there wasn’t demand they wouldn’t open.

And as for shops they’d survive if many didn’t use online retailers. The world is changing and places to meet are something that cannot be replicated online, so food and drink outlets are increasingly seeing a bigger presence.

Another example covered today is a new Nepalese restaurant on the Broadway at the former Warren James jewellers. You can buy earrings online but you can’t eat moms with friends.

The High Streets and town centres that will succeed in years to come are those that embrace the changes. Bexleyheath and Eltham seem to be doing a decent job of it. Woolwich too is seeing more places to eat, as evidenced by another post on this site earlier covering the forthcoming opening of a Kokoro sushi restaurant.

  • If the application is successful and the new new Jamaica Blue cafe opens. I amnsure it wm be popular.
A lot of people to like to stop and have a coffee or something to eat while out shopping with friends family.
Dependent on the opening hours the new cafes and restaurants bring people in to the town centres in the evenings and at weekends. Helping the nighr time economy of our High Streets and Town Centres.
I would like to see larger shops and stores be allowed to open later in rhe evenings and on Sundays so peoole have more time to shop on the High Street and Town Centres..
