Cat café “The Catty Sark” planned for Greenwich town centre
In the recent past you may have spotted a “cat café coming soon” board attached to a building in Greenwich town centre.
Passing through Greenwich on a bus I spotted it last week, did a double take and then quickly took a photo. Looking into it further and it appears that the former manager at Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium is looking to open at King William Walk.

Lady Dinah’s was formerly based in Bethnal Green before closing earlier this year and if you havn’t heard bout cat cafés it’s pretty self-explanatory; a café selling coffee and cakes with cats living on site.
Rescue cats are brought in, live in the café before then being re-homed.
Closure
Their former café in Bethnal Green closed earlier this year due to “uncontrollable debts”. The cafe’s manager purchased the businesses assets from the former owner and a crowd funder was launched to find a new location in which to open.
The owner states that “Guests aren’t allowed to pick the cats up, disturb them while they’re sleeping, grooming, or eating, or feed them any human food. Flash photography is also not allowed, as it can be stressful for the cats.
“We also have an age policy of 12 and over. Since all our cats are rescues with different backgrounds, triggers, and past experiences, this policy—along with all our other rules—is in place to protect their wellbeing and make sure they always feel safe and respected.”
There’s little else available as of yet such as an opening date though preparations are already underway with repainting of the building’s frontage.
Given how well covered the previous café was across the media this spot is likely to attract a fair few visitors and tourists when it opens.

If the ‘Cat Cafe’ need any staff i would love to work ‘part time’ Thank you.
I hope the cats do get looked after well. Wonder why the one in Bethnal Green was bad with finances and why they think this one will be different.
I’ve always wanted to visit a cat cafe, so this Greenwich location is perfect.
Visited the Cat Cafe in Stratford Upon Avon . Its a great experience, the rules make senese. They were pretty strict on pre booking .Greenwich would be a great spot for one.
