Former Greenwich town hall to see shroud during residential conversion works
The former Greenwich town hall is set to see a shroud surround part of the building during work to convert the structure into housing.
An image of the building will be applied to the shroud with a 1:1 replica set to stay in place for 12 months.

Completed in 1939 the Grade II listed former Town Hall was vacated by the Metropolitan borough of Greenwich when it merged with Woolwich council.
The newly created London Borough of Greenwich became based in Woolwich with the former town hall named Meridian House.

A total of 73 flats will be created within the existing building and an extension. Plans were first submitted in 2022 and approved in 2023.
As part of works the developer stated the tower and viewing gallery would be renovated and made accessible.

I hope some of the new homes will be able to keep some of the original features while being made has engery efficient as possible. To reduce fuel bills and carbon emissions.
The new homes will be in a nice location in Greenwich Town Centre
I am looking forward to seeing this development finished to see how the new homes will look. I too hope that many period features are kept where possible while making the new homes has engery efficient as possible for residents who will move in to this lovely listed building in the heart of Greenwich.
