Travelodge to open hotel in Bromley town centre

Travelodge have announced they will take on the lease of a Ibis hotel in Bromley town centre which recently closed.

The company have signed a 25-year lease with the building’s owner and will begin work to refit 59-rooms within the hotel.

A target date for opening the hotel has been set for Easter 2025.

It’ll be the second Travelodge to open in Bromley with another to the north of the town centre.

This second Travelodge hotel is opposite the Glades shopping centre and a short stroll from Bromley South station.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here

  • Wasn’t this Travelodge before it became Ibis? I hear the Bromley North Travelodge is mostly leased by the Council as temporary accommodation because they’ve done such a poor job of building any.

    • That sounds about right Jimmy and can be said for most Teavel Lodges and Councils in London and a cross the UK
More social housing is urgently needed for Council and Housing Association tenants.
We also need more mpty properties brought back in to use. Why making older council homes more engery efficient and fit for the future.

  • Bringing empty buildings back in to use can certainly help to home homeless people..
On a separate note on the corner of Wellington Street and John Wison Stteet in Woolwich the is an old pub that closed down several years ago stood empty for about 10 years or so and is now up for let. I do not know why this could not be let to provide a warm space for homeless people or converted to provide rooms for homeless people.
As no one else seems interested on taking on the building.. Jusr a thought.
