Light show to illuminate Trafalgar Square and National Gallery tonight

A light extravaganza will again illuminate the National Gallery tonight offering a spectacle across Trafalgar Square.

Your humble correspondent watched the first night of the show yesterday and it’s well worth a glimpse. It’s free for all to view.

It’s all in aid of celebrating 200 years of the National Gallery which faces onto Trafalgar Square.

The show runs between 9pm to 11pm offering not just lights and paintings projected onto the facade but also an audio experience. It’s marvelous.

And talking about this part of the world, it may just remind you when the road used to roar past. No longer. One of Livingstone’s better policies and one which wouldn’t have happened if London didn’t have the Mayoral position.

Anyway, get down and have a look. It’s blinding.

If last night was a guide, you’ll find many loving the experience too. All quite heart warming really. London at its best.

Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
