Greenwich housing development sees detailed matters submitted

Plans to build almost 150 homes in Greenwich have seen further details submitted this week.

Saxon Wharf sits beside Deptford Creek and activity on site has ramped up recently.

Application showing detailed elevation plan

The recent reserved matters’ submission don’t exactly shake the earth but give an insight into the exterior façade.

Plans of materials and each elevation can be viewed here.

Looking at these applications post approval of the overall site is important but often slips past many. It’s how we saw that the Mast Quay tower in Woolwich was being built nothing like what was approved.

When complete the site – on Norman Road – will joining a number of others built in recent years.

More will follow including a student tower close to Creek Road.

I recently headed over after an email told me the current building was coming down.

Old Joinery Greenwich set for demolition

The Old Joinery sits on site and it’s not – yet – met the wrecking ball.

Yet it looks like it’s imminent.

Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
