Deptford student skyscraper planned above Victorian building

Plans for a tower in Deptford above a historic building have been altered under a revised plan.

Developer Tribe are behind the plan, with the student housing provider also behind two sites nearby in Greenwich.

The Deptford tower would top out at 96 metres and 31 storeys in height. Total students rooms are 502.

It’s now more than five years since plans were first revealed to build above Scott House on Grove Street which was covered on this site back in January 2019.

Plans were approved in 2021 for 137 flats but no movement seen since before these revised plans.

The proposed tower sits beside a substantial development comprising over 1,100 homes.

Revised plan at Deptford Landings

That site was known as Timberyard before rebranding as Deptford Landings. Last year Lewisham Council agreed proposals to increase the height of a tower on site to 35-floors.

Details of the newly revised tower can be seen here.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
