Large grass fire takes hold in Bexleyheath

Firefighters are battling a grass fire the size of three football pitches off Halcot Avenue in Bexleyheath.

A large expanse is ablaze on a stretch of open space which runs to Hall Place in the south.

London Fire Brigade have 25 firefighters are on scene on what could be the hottest day ever recorded. Temps of 38c are being recorded in parts of the country.

Four fire engines are also on scene.

As a private renter with a young family, the cost of living is extremely high.

You can help with running costs of this site via Paypal here which allows me to focus time on researching and writing posts alongside taking photographs to document changes. Adverts are far from enough to cover living costs.

Another option is via my Patreon account by clicking here

I also have a Facebook page for the site here

Thank you

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
