Fire hits blocks in Hither Green and Catford
A fire at a block in Hither Green this morning saw 40 firefighters battles a blaze at Birdwood Avenue.
The Fire Brigade state the fire broke out at an underground car park before 9am and is now extinguished with no reported injuries.
Another fire at a car park near flats in Catford last night saw the brigade attend. A car was set alight.

It’s been a busy 24 hours for the Fire Brigade. A dramatic fire last night in Wood Green saw a maisonette destroyed and the roof of an entire block collapse.
Top work by the Fire Brigade all round.

I live in the Hither Green development and it was remarkable how quickly they were on the scene, it was less than 5 minutes from the smoke becoming visible. Excellent job.
