Man stabbed in Erith in early hours

Manor Road in Erith has been closed after a stabbing overnight.

A man is reported to have been attacked in the early hours of the morning. Police have taped off the area.

The Met have increase stop and search in 2019 by over 400% in places as it attempts to fight an increase in knife crime.

New this week showed knife crime has increase across England away from London. In Lancashire, “knife crime has doubled in five years from 455 offences in 2014 to 981 in 2018”.

Kent saw a 152% increase from 2011 to 2018.

Manchester and Liverpool are also seeing high levels of increase.
