Six year old Erith girl dies at Margate
Sad news this morning after confirmation that a girl from Erith on a trip to the coast has died after getting into difficulties at Margate.
Concerns for a child in the water were raised at 3:15pm yesterday and emergency services raced to the scene.
The beach was packed on a warm summer day and witnesses explained how emergency services rushed to the scene in huge numbers.
She was taken to hospital and despite best efforts it’s now been confirmed by Kent Police she died.

My thoughts are with this poor little girls family friends and the emergency services staff who tried to save her. So sad and upsetting to read this tragic event for the family on what should have been a fun day out for them all on the beach.
