Ladywell station on Southeastern Hayes line to see improvement works
An application has been made to improve Ladywell station on Southeastern Metro’s Hayes line.
A disused retail unit will be upgraded including new exterior access while cracks in masonry on the station building will be repaired.

According to plans work includes a “new plasterboard ceiling and lights, new flooring on raised floor, constructed using joists and WBP plywood and new toilet facilities.
“Part of the proposal also includes changing the access to the unit. Currently the unit is accessed from ticket hall.

“It is proposed that the current internal access is blocked off and new access is created from the station yard by converting existing window into a door”
Station growth
Ladywell is the closest station to Lewisham Hospital and handy for reaching the southern end of Lewisham High Street.
Work started this summer on 102 homes at a nearby site on the former Ladywell leisure centre.

Last year the station saw strong annual passenger growth with an 11.5 per cent increase.
All stations saw healthy growth with new homes built or proposed near many including the next two stations along the line at Catford Bridge and Lower Sydenham.

Is this what the proposed Bakerloo Line extension from Elephant and Castle to Lewisham and to Bromley and/or Hayes. And to see stations including Ladywell to have an upgrade or re-development. Or if the Bakerloo Line extension is cancelled then I do think that Ladywell should have step-free access.
I do think that Ladywell station on the Southeastern Hayes line does need some improvements. And there are plans for the Hayes line to be taken over by the proposed Bakerloo Line. That’s if the Bakerloo Line extension does get approved and the go ahead.
Please can both you and Andrew Guilt add something useful rather then saying useless stuff all the bleeping time!!! Every railway story here, its always you two coming out with nonsense
