No trains along Woolwich line all week confirmed by Thameslink
Thameslink have confirmed they’ll be no services through the Woolwich line to Luton this week as recovery continues after last week’s train collision near Bedford.
Thameslink are running a shuttle between Rainham and Dartford only. Their website states that until at least Friday 26th June:
“Rainham to Luton services will run between Rainham and Dartford only.
“Please use alternative Southeastern services from Dartford to London. You can also use the Elizabeth line if you’re travelling to or from Abbey Wood”.
A lack of places to turn-back trains as well as where drivers and trains are located is behind these changes.

Southeastern trains will be busier along the Woolwich line which combined with extremely hot and humid whether could make travelling difficult.
It’s best not to travel unless absolutely neccesary and to check whether a Southeastern service will be a City Beam train with air conditioning.
Southeastern suggest setting up an alert through their app or website to notify passengers of any changes in what stock is running.

I take it that some Thameslink trains based at Bedford depot are stranded because of the train crash that happened few miles south of Bedford station on the Midland main line. Very sad.
Thameslink could operate from St. Albans City to Rainham if the Luton-Rainham route is to be scrapped and Thameslink to run from Luton to Wimbledon and Sutton (clockwise and anti-clockwise). And to introduce a new service from Luton to Horsham, Brighton and Gatwick Airport.
