Drive-through Starbucks planned at Charlton retail park
Plans are in for a drive-through Starbucks at Stone Lake Retail Park in Charlton.
Whilst the capital is in the grip of a housing crises, average house prices are vast and far outweigh average wages and extortionate rents continue prime brownfield land is still being wasted like this in 2026.

I mean, how lazy do you have to be anyway not to be able to get a coffee without having to drive through a bloody Starbucks? This is zone 3 London not the back of beyond.
Stone Lake retail park sits nearer Woolwich than other Charlton retail parks around Bugsby’s Way. It has a massive car park that has never been filled from day one of opening.

A bizarrely large side section of car parking beside the main units is located on site. In a sane world it’d be used to build new housing rather than more sprawl.
It was shut-off for years though recently looks like new tarmac laid.

The sooner retail parks like this located in built-up inner London areas become mixed-use developments the better. Stick a new Starbucks under some new housing if you must. The jobs would still be there, but so would be new homes.

Another deranged decision by Greenwich, a local authority that is supposedly committed to cutting car use, who have turned lower Charlton into a giant retail park. Complete Frauds.
Yet another pointless addition to Charlton.
Well Charlton is in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
So Stone Lake Retail Park is in Charlton but is also near to Greenwich. Isn’t Charlton in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. And the retail park isn’t too far from Charlton Athletic FC “ The Valley stadium” and Charlton House.
