Another accident a week after high speed crash near Lesnes Abbey

Another accident today has closed Abbey Road after a major accident in the area just one week ago.

Today saw two cars collide with one spearing off the road into a garden.

Aftermath of accident

Last week this area saw a car drive into a house with a driver arrested a short distance away.

One car took out the corner of a house with a 28-year old arrested. At the time the London Fire Brigade stated:

“Firefighters used specialist equipment to rescue one person from a car which had collided into a house, another person left the vehicle before the Brigade arrived, both were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.”

Locals have long complained about high speeds and dangerous driving, calling for Bexley Council and other authorities to take action.

Police on scene

The crash occurred around lunchtime with the 229 bus on diversion, though the road has now reopened.

  • Driving standards are getting worse. You often wonder if some drivers ever had proper driving lessons let a lone passed a driving test.
Also driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs seems to be on the increase of late.
