New riverside cafe opens in Greenwich

A new cafe is open beside the Thames at Greenwich.

Rubar is located within a ground floor unit at the River Gardens development next to Enderby Wharf.

In recent weeks it gained a premises licence from Greenwich Council.

The site is not too far from where Hop Stuff once sought to open. That never transpired and the brewer was taken over by Salt.

The Young’s pub Enderby House is also a little further to the north.

Slightly further north of that are the sites of two major developments, with revised plans for 1,500 homes at Morden Wharf submitted last week and covered here.

South of that is Enderby Wharf phase two, where a cruise liner was once proposed as part of a mixed-use development. Now dropped, the site will mostly be residential with 564 homes.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
