Greenwich tower at Enderby Wharf scaled back

A proposed tower at Enderby Wharf in Greenwich has been scaled back after a decision on approval was deferred.

At the meeting of Greenwich’s Planning Board in May it was recommended that two floors be removed at Enderby Place. That’s now been undertaken in updated plans with another floor added to two neighbouring blocks.

There’s no change in overall housing totals at 564 units while commercial space remains the same.

Three towers are planned on site: Morden Tower – 33 storeys, Telcon Tower – 24 storeys and River Tower – 24 storeys.

The site sits between existing housing to the south and the proposed Morden Wharf to the north where 1,500 homes have been approved, though revised plans there are being drawn up.

The Enderby Place site was formerly in line for a cruise terminal and residential towers revealed a decade ago.

Those plans were dropped in 2019 and the site was purchased by Criterion Capital. One change under revised plans include increasing homes for those on the housing waiting list or in temporary housing from 50 to 118.

That’s via the London Affordable Rent (LAR) level – which is pretty much the lowest often attainable now – rather than the more expensive London Living Rent (LLR), though this development does include some in that tenure too.

Overall 35 per cent of housing on site is “affordable”.
