Stratford Neighbourhood Bar demolished for forthcoming tower

A bar in Stratford has been demolished to make way for a student tower.

The former Neighbourhood Bar along Celebration Avenue stood a close distance from Westfield as well as Stratford International DLR and Southeastern HS1 stations.

In total 504 student rooms will be built on site within the East Village area of Stratford.

Two blocks will reach ten and eighteen floors in height with commercial space at ground floor level.

Plot N16’s structure was always designed to be temporary and previously featured a Sainsbury’s and gym operated by Better.

Reserved matters were approved in May 2024 and the new block, to be built by HG Construction, is expected to complete by 2028.

  • More new apartments in Stratford, East London. I understand that Stratford has changed a lot over the decades and of course it did host the London 2012 Olympics 13 years ago. I have seen so much new development happening when I visited Stratford many times.
