Stratford student tower underway as demolition begins

Work on a student tower at Jubilee House in Stratford town centre appears to have begun.

A tower totalling thirty six floors in height is set to be built on the site of Jubilee House which is currently seeing scaffolding erected.

Site developed in two stages. White tower rising first

Work has been projected to start in Q2 2023 and upon completion will see 716 students beds alongside a new sixth form college.

Scaffolding apparent

Jubilee House – with its blue window frames – was the former home of HMRC. Plans for demolition and rebuild were approved in September 2022 with the site purchased by Unite.

Neighbouring buildings (Broadway and Bridge House with their yellow frames) are also part of a wider plan for the area, though not all of that site is included in work currently commencing.

Images within the application – approved by London Legacy Development Corporation and not Newham Council – show the site in context.

Various development sites across Stratford

However the above render still fails to show all development sites, with others such as nearby Poland House absent as well as another tower in Stratford recently covered on this site.
