Police appeal after fatal Thamesmead accident

Police are appealing for help after a driver died when their car overturned in Thamesmead.

The incident occurred around 11am this morning at Eastern Way near Thamesmead football club.

The driver was a man in his 40s who was pronounced dead at 11:46am after rescue efforts which included paramedics from the Air Ambulance.

Any witnesses or drivers with dashcams can assist by calling 101 quoting reference number 2571/29JUL.

Eastern Way which runs from Belvedere past the A-Bridge and towards the roundabout connecting with Central and Eastern Way remains closed.

Traffic is diverting via Yarnton Way.
