89-year old woman murdered in Bexleyheath

An 89-year old woman has been murdered at Barton Close in Bexleyheath.

Police state they were called yesterday (Saturday 5 June) at 3:10pm due to concerns over the welfare of a woman.

Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived, with an 89-year-old woman pronounced dead at the scene.

Police revealed that “a 57-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He was taken to hospital as a precaution for treatment to self-inflicted injuries.”

The victim’s next of kin have been informed.

The suspect and deceased are believed to be known to each other.

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) have been informed and a crime scene remains in place.”

    How awful my heart goes out to the poor victims family freinds and neighbours. How can anyome attack let alone murder an 89 year old lady. Who was probably to frail to protect herself. It is heartbreaking.
