Woolwich block to see rooftop extension

Developer Grangewalk are planning to use new powers to increase the height of a housing block in Woolwich.

Under recent changes, developers no longer need to seek formal planning permission to extend blocks up two floors above the existing roofline.

This change limits options for local authorities – and is something anyone who lives in a block – or is planning to buy in a block built before 5th March 2018 – needs to be aware of. This block completed before that date.

Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
