Greenwich ice skating plans at the Queen’s House back again

While many events this winters are cancelled you can still find a bit of seasonal cheer  as ice skating in front of the Queen’s House will be possible as a new planning application is submitted.

Documents reveal plans for up to 3,500 skaters a day. Greenwich hopes to attract people as other major events such as Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is cancelled.

According to organisers, benefits include the grounds staying open until 9pm (the Grounds normally close in the winter months at 5pm) and additional opening days on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day (when the Grounds are usually closed).

It is due to open on 19th November until 10th January 2021.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
