Enhanced stop and search powers in Greenwich, Deptford and New Cross

Police will operate enhanced stop and search in Greenwich, Deptford and New Cross after section 60 powers were initiated.

The powers are in place from midday today until 3am tomorrow morning. The exact wards are Greenwich West, Surrey Quays, Evelyn and New Cross

Patrols will be increased. The measures are usually in place due to recent violence or intelligence predicting imminent incidents.
