Armed police were seen in Eltham this afternoon after a man was reported armed with a weapon.

Police were centred around Froissart Road, and stated:

“Officers in Greenwich have arrested a man for possession of an offensive weapon in Froissart Road, SE9. Police were called at 5pm to reports of a man, aged around 30ys, with a large knife in the street”

“NPAS (helicopter), firearms officers, local officers and TSG responded and the man was taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody. Nobody was injured.”

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • Thank you to the Met Police for their quick response. Thankfully no reports of anyone being hurt, This man is now in custody and another weapon off the streets of London.

We must still keep up the fight against crime in the difficult times of Covid-19.
