Groups also reportedly raiding Charlton stores tonight

With news of groups targeting stores to raid in Eltham tonight comes details of similar happening at a Charlton retail park.

People seem to have congregated in the area around Sports Direct after targeting other stores. In Eltham it was JD Sport. Similar events have been seen in London in recent days.

Outside Sports Direct

Shops in Charlton have closed doors with dozens of people in the area. It’s a similar picture in Eltham where police have issued a dispersal order.

More soon.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

    • Like the raptors in Jurassic Park, they’re always testing the fences and capable of diversionary tactics. A cellphone jammer that can be remotely activated would immediately put a damper in the plans of these thugs, though I feel for the poor souls who’ll be in the way of this horde.

      • A “cellphone jammer” would also put lives at risk, as members of the public would be less able to contact the emergency services or family, friends etc. to warn them away from the area (to give but two examples). They are illegal for a very good reason.
