Cracked rail at Lewisham causes Southeastern disruption

A cracked rail will see services disrupted through Lewisham today after discovery over the weekend.

Network Rail will work on the problems this evening meaning last-minute adjustment to services.

Lewisham is a notorious spot for signal issues and track defects. Network Rail are currently spending £55 million upgrading the area.

In other problems this morning services are disrupted after a bridge strike. Track was damaged yesterday around Gravesend after a bike went on the line though that was resolved overnight.

Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
