Fatal shooting in Plumstead

A man has been shot dead this afternoon in Plumstead after an incident in a car park off Hartville Road.

Police were seen subsequently searching in a number of areas including Plumstead Corner. UPDATE: Three men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder and have been taken to separate south London police stations.



According to the Met:

“Police were called to a car park in Hartville Road, SE18 at 16:54hrs on Friday, 14 June. 

Armed police, local officers, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended.

A man, believed to be aged in his late teens was found with critical injuries. He died at the scene a short while later. 

An apparent non-London Air Ambulance attended

Police are working to notify his next of kin as soon as possible.  

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits. 



The Homicide and Major Crime Command will be leading this investigation in close partnership with police in Greenwich.  

Local residents can expect an enhanced police presence in the area. 

No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing. 

A large crime scene remains in place and police are appealing for anyone with information on what happened to call them urgently on 101 quoting CAD reference 6004/14June. “

It follows an incident which saw a mass police presence and man arrested near Plumstead station earlier today.
