Crash involving multiple vehicles blocks A2 in Blackheath

An accident involving multiple vehicles has occurred in Blackheath with roads closed and widespread disruption.

Police are advising drivers to avoid the area wioth the A2 shut northbound from Blackheath towards the Blackwall tunnel. Queues have already extended back to Eltham. It’s believed that two lorries, two vans and a car are involved.

The road is closed from Sun in the Sands roundabout to the Greenwich flyover.

Police are currently on scene at the A2 in Greenwich, at the junction with the A206 near the Sun in the Sands Roundabout, dealing with a multiple vehicle collision. Road closures are in place while emergency services deal. Drivers are advised to avoid the area. pic.twitter.com/SKQB73IdeR

Police are asking that any witnesses or drivers with dash cam footage call 101 quoting CAD2171/19MAR or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
