Bexleyheath housing plans could be approved tonight

A planning meeting tonight could approve new homes in Bexleheath.

A total of twelve homes on former tennis courts were deferred eight months ago. Plans first went in to Bexley Council back in 2022.

Proposed three storey building seen in planning application

As a report before Bexley Council’s planning meeting today shows:

“This application was previously reported to Planning Committee in October 2025 with a recommendation to grant planning permission.

“Following consideration, Members did not support the Officer recommendation and a subsequent motion to defer the application was carried to enable further information to be provided in respect of highway safety, with particular concern regarding the proposed access arrangements,

visibility in the vicinity of the railway bridge, and pedestrian and vehicular safety.”

The scheme at Old Manor Way – which can be seen here – is arranged across two blocks. Of the twelve flats proposed, six are one-bedroom and six two bedroom.

The plot sits behind 1-37 Parkside and was formerly occupied by tennis courts.

Planning officers are recommending approval at the planning meeting tonight (Thursday 11th June).
