Flats coming to Bexleyheath car dealer site

A block of flats will replace a car dealership in Bexleyheath town centre. The site, at 21-23 Watling Street has been a car dealership since 1996.

The site is opposite Bexley Council’s new headquarters.

16 flats are planned along with 16 car parking spaces; three of which will have electric power points.

It’s a modest proposal and nowhere near the scale of 500+ homes planned nearby opposite Cineworld on the old council HQ.

The planning reference is 16/02086/FULM.

  • 16 flats with 16 car parking spaces? Someone’s got their figures wrong. Using the Bellway constant of 228 car parking spaces for 518 flats they should convert at least 6 of those car parking spaces into flats.

Then you can bump up the cost of the car parking space since they will be at a premium as there won’t be enough. If anyone smells a rat just say it’s for environmental reasons. (I mean, if you don’t provide enough car parking spaces the people will abandon cars, right..?)

Visitor parking? Hmmm.. probably should market these at people who don’t have friends.
