Woolwich Wetherspoon’s pub building sees another extension plan
Renewed plans to add an extension above a building housing Wetherspoon in Woolwich has been made.
Thames House saw a previous plan for two additional floors rejected. That was covered on this site back in 2024.

This plan from building owner MRI Woolwich Ltd again sees two additional floors this time providing seven flats.
Changes now made include cycle storage spaces and a dedicated bin storage area.
The Great Harry pub on the ground floor and part of the first is leased by JD Wetherspoon and has just reopened after a month-long closure for refurbishment.
As an aside it’d be nice if the building’s owners fixed the Thames house lettering on the corner. More keep falling off and it all looks a bit sorry right now.
Nearby development
The pub sits amongst numerous developments with Greenwich Council’s HQ next door.
The council moved from the former Peggy Middleton House which was part of the Tesco development. A block is now starting to rise as part of Woolwich Central’s next phase.
Over the road sits the Island site which has seen revised plans approved. A short distance away a new leisure center has recently opened on General Gordon Square, and work on hundreds of homes to the rear is due to start imminently.
