Bexleyheath pub change of use submitted

A former pub in Bexleyheath has seen proposed changes under a plan submitted to Bexley Council.

The Royal Standard on Lion Road was known as Celebrations in its final years. It was put up for auction in 2022.

In October 2023 plans to extend and convert parts of the building to create five flats was approved.

As part of that decision the ground floor was to be for community

use. The exact wording was:

“Part one part two storey rear extension and increase in roof height to allow the conversion of existing building into 5 residential units and associated amenity space and community use at ground floor.”

Now an application has been made to expand usage to include medical use. Hopes that a pub may return appear to be gone with “Wellbeing Within Space” seeking approval.
