Changes planned at Lord Raglan pub including 18-room aparthotel
An application has been made to Greenwich Council to extend and convert areas of the Lord Raglan pub.
Located on Burrage Road and a short distance from Woolwich town centre the pub has been closed in recent years.
This plan includes “construction of part 1, part 2 storey extension to the rear of 160 Burrage Road” alongside “retention of public house use across part ground and basement levels alongside new 18 room aparthotel” and “formation of new pub garden together with new hard and soft landscaping”.
Whether it would stay a pub after work is undertaken remains to be seen. There’s plenty of examples where that use class later gets changed to more general use.
It’s been up for rent and this link shows a few internal photos of various rooms including the main bar.
The Ordnance Arms nearby has recently seen extension work whilst the Anglesea Arms has a demolition proposal. A heritage group have opposed wholesale demolition on that site.
