Sidcup banking hub plans submitted

Plans for a banking hub on Sidcup High Street have been submitted to Bexley Council.

Having lost numerous banks in recent years a shop unit at 85 Sidcup High Street will now see a hub created in part of the former HSBC.

HSBC Sidcup before closure. Nat West also now closed

Cash Access are behind the plan who are a not-for-profit company set up by a number of UK banks and building societies .

Customer are able to access cash, deposit and undertake basic banking services. The 150th nationwide banking hub opened in April 2025.

A temporary site has been established at the Parish Office & Parish Room of St Johns Church.

A banking hub also exists in Welling but none so far appear to have opened within neighbouring Greenwich borough.

In recent weeks councillors in Greenwich from both Labour and tory have called for one to open in Eltham. It could be something that a Business Improvement District can push for, but Greenwich borough also lacks any of those.
