Work could soon begin on towers near North Greenwich station

A number of detailed planning submissions have been submitted to Greenwich Council for a plot of land near the o2 which previously saw approval for 866 homes.

Knight Dragon gained approval for plots 1.02 and 1.03 back in 2023 within the wider Greenwich Peninsula masterplan and reserved matters are now appearing, such as this.

Buildings are set to rise metres from the 02 and a short distance from North Greenwich station.

Residential blocks will vary in height across the two plots with the tallest topping out at 36 floors.

Across Greenwich peninsula around 20,000 homes are proposed with more than 17,000 within Knight Dragon’s masterplan area.

Separate sites include Morden Wharf and the next phase of Enderby Wharf to name but two.

Up to 8,000 more homes are proposed nearby at Charlton Riverside.

Transport improvements on hold

Knight Dragon previously agreed in 2020 that the bus station would be rebuilt once 3,000 homes were constructed. In late 2024 they sought to change the Section 106 agreement that means no rebuild would now be undertaken until 6,000 homes were built.

That same approval from 2020 also included 2,000 car parking spaces.

A “temporary” car park built during the construction of Silvertown tunnel has been given approval to remain for another ten years.
