Further Greenwich Maritime Museum changes proposed

Changes to the internal court at Greenwich’s Maritime Museum are proposed as work on roof replacement continues.

Plans to replace a glazed roof installed in 1999 were submitted in 2023 due to leaks. Breakage of glass panels was also seen alongside vents failing.

Proposed changes alter views at night with more subdued appearance

Following that proposals are now seen at Ocean Court to paint sections in a dark blue colour and install a wall mural.

The courtyard was formerly a gym to the designs of the Admiralty’s Office of Works. It became an exhibition space from the 1930s.

The long-standing name of Neptune Court is being changed to Ocean Court.

Future design of the mural is not yet finalised and will follow at a later date. Document can be viewed here.

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
