Train hits buffers at London Bridge with man arrested

A Southern train hit buffers at London Bridge stations resulting in the arrest of a man.

No one was injured in the incident which occurred at low speed at 3:45pm on Friday 13 December.

The train was a service from Victoria – it appears to be this one – with the return journey cancelled.

British Transport Police attended the scene at platform 12 with one man arrested on suspicion of endangerment on the railway.

The platform is now back in use while the train returned to its depot for inspection.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • So a man was arresting for endangerment and trespassing as the train was approaching at slow speed before it crashed into the buffers at London Bridge. I wonder why someone was messing around and risking not only their lives but others as well.
