Prezzo to close Eltham and Sidcup restaurants

Restaurant chain Prezzo have announced the closure of a third of their outlets including branches in Eltham and Sidcup.

Sidcup is located in the former police station, while Eltham is located beside the Eltham Centre library and leisure centre.

The company blames soaring inflation for food products alongside energy costs. That’s on top of footfall reducing in recent years.

The ONS puts out weekly footfall figures based on Kantor, and High Streets have still not recovered to 2019 levels in many places.

In total 46 sites will be shut across the country with the possible loss of 810 jobs.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
