Consultation begins on proposed Greenwich tower

Consultation has commenced from developer Knight Dragon for new homes at blocks on Greenwich Peninsula.

The sites in question are snappily titled plots M0102 (on the west side of the Peninsula) and P1.02 and P1.03.

Housing totals have continually been revised up over the past 20 years and are now above 17,000 on plots owned by Knight Dragon alone.

After years on inactivity work has finally started on 431 homes at one plot.

Revised masterplan

As ever when numerous plots are handed to one developer progress has been glacial. See also Peabody in Abbey Wood and Thamesmead.

Much of the Peninsula remains a mass of car parks and undeveloped land 25 years after construction begun on the Millennium Dome.

Knight Dragon have previously consulted on a number of plots before failing to build. Let’s see what happens here.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
